Derbyboycott
Every beginning is hard and this one even more. To waive the Derby is hard for everyone. But we see no alternative to set a long overdue exclamation mark against the forcing up of prices. We state explicitly that this is no Derby warm up and this has nothing to do with our rivalry with Schalke 04. We boycott this match, because games like this are the carthorses for clubs to rise prices and in this case prices have risen. We plead to every Borussia Dortmund fan and also to every fan from our rivals, to reflect upon this situation, and to consider joining this boycott.
Tickets:
Many Fanclubs have initially waived on their assigned tickets. The majority of fans however has bought tickets when they went on sale or is owner of a season ticket to away matches. Borussia Dortmund has guaranteed us in writing, that they will take those tickets back. Of course money will be reimbursed. How exactly this will happen is being negotiated right now. We will inform you on future developments.
Compensational Event:
On Derbyday we would like show a punchy protest and give you the opportunity, to follow the match together in Dortmund and hopefully also to celebrate after the match. We are currently working on it and of course will keep you up to date.
The Team:
Nobody should have the sense that he abandons his teams. We will communicate our matter to team and coaches and will put across the fact that we only fight this fight so that every fans, no matter which age and no matter which group of income he comes from, can afford to see our team in the future – home and away. With the current development in Bundesliga football there might come the time that our younger players will melancholy look back on times when they were supported the way they are supported now.
Media:
The Derby is one of, if not THE most electrifying match German football has to offer. And accordingly strong is the media response to it. We want to use the media response, to highlight our boycott. Media echo towards banners and empty blocks for 15 minutes have been weak and mostly regional in the past. We want to delibaretly put this statement into a larger environment and have self-motivated been in touch with print and TV media. There has been increased coverage in the recent past that has not only shown fans as a noisy side effect of football but rather as a fundamental part of the game with its own problems and a uniquely defined opinion and claim. We want to intensify and make use of this impression.
